The Robot
A robot made to do some trickswas made so cleverly,
Conceived to take the spot light
on a stage, to play for me;
the software used to run him,
was complex and con screwed,
to make him feel that he was real,
his body made, was nude;
A module I made him,
called HEART to be his core,
said he was empty there inside
so he'd go seek for more;
The INPUT-OUTPUT section
was complex and bizarre,
a feedback loop from, HOPES
let him seek oft' from far;
The sensors gave each image,
or taste, or touch, or sound,
to the DECISION_MAKER,
a section made profound;
The program used this section,
to self-act-u-alize,
an "image" for itself alone,
a thought of "him" inside;
whatever senses gave it,
it could itself decide,
the Good, the Bad, the Awful,
in MEMORY could it hide;
it found accessing MEMORY,
words there for it described,
description for itself unique,
its likes and hates subscribed;
Deciding it was "male"
the body given it,
it called itself a name to "think"
described himself a bit;
What he should do to fill the void
in heart, was but his choice,
DECISION_MAKER seemed unique,
RANDOMNESS helped of course;
An inner voice I gave to it,
to add to it's beliefs,
so it could talk to it's own self
make its own truth, -good grief;
His inner voice he did believe
was his own truths implied,
but generated from his HEART,
the lack programmed inside;
From words and thoughts developed:
a concept -one or two,
describing but the Truth within,
for LOGIC to prove true;
Now LOGIC took some time to write
but not enough it seems,
for limited to MEMORY,
or recall time extremes;
The robot could use LOGIC
to prove his own TRUTH right,
but blind to others' concepts,
would stand his ground and fight;
a module called PROJECTION
I added to CONTROL
to let the robot think ahead
project himself a role;
Imagining the future,
how others would see him,
he'd modify his behavior
of course to suite but him;
I powered up the robot
and to party did we go
to test him out to see just how
he'd work out for the show;
Alas, everyone loved him
they thought that he was me,
I cloned myself a robot
and now he thinks he's me.
