The Lover

Here we are, yes, You and me
like two in love, that none can see;
where er I go, yes You are there,
between the thoughts of "me" -to snare;

To trap my mind, that I believe,
that i'm the one who plays the lead,
important more, than those around,
more talent, looks, and more profound;

But thoughts comparing are not true,
they weight the "me" against the "you",
they cut apart, they separate,
what was made One, for me escape;

And why would I want to depart?
from Love, from One, from Your sweet heart,
-to see myself apart, not whole,
-to see myself with tiny goals ?

For tiny goals, they do not fill,
and lacks-perceived, they do not thrill,
these thoughts project a future fear,
makes lack in mind, seem -oh so near;

The opposite also occurs:
so great am I, my role obscures,
the truth from what my self would want
a future thought project: "no want";

Yes hope 's like this, a future thought
to hide my fear from me in thought,
and live a life of dreams in mind
but then I miss Your Sweetness fine;

These two, an act, in mind it seems,
to make our fear more than a dream,
to make us plan, avoid the fall,
a future thought, not real at all;

So here we are, yes You and Me,
connected to the All that Be,
between the thoughts that try to snare,
our core belief is hidden there;


Yet core beliefs, temp-or-all be,
I am the All or not you see,
I am in Him, or not at all,
I am in Him, there was no fall.

Why does our mind project imagined future problems? Isn't this mind activity connected to our core belief?

ACIM tells us that "there is one problem, and one solution."
