Magnetic Attraction
animal magnetism is what it isa magnet has two poles you see,
and everything here has polarity too
just to keep you so you do not see,
you think you're a body, with feet made of clay,
with hormones and feelings and all,
attracted to this, or distracted by that,
you use past to define you as "tall";
"sexy" or "handsome", "short" or "with whit"
whatever the mind can describe,
for mind takes the past to create what won't last
a story of "You"-circumscribe;
let go of the story, let go of the past;
who are you if "past" then is gone ?
-A light in the world, where at last you are free
from the pull of these magnets so strong;
oh bodies will pull and repel as they will,
but you are not defined in that game,
you simply watch and observe what goes on
and keep thoughts from creating the same;
for thoughts are like magnets
they pull and they push
try'n to build up momentum you see;
try'n to catch you with "me" or an "i" here or there,
in the stream of the thoughts that you see;
just watch them so clever, don't say they are mine,
don't invest them with energy-force,
they will come and they'll go, like the leaves to the snow
till the self and the thoughts have divorce;
mind is a tool, so easily misused,
when it uses the pronoun of "me",
or couched in an "I" or a group like a "we"
it defines what it never can see;
the Self it can not, though it tries to a lot
it defines "me", so that it can "be"
but something apart can not grasp what is not
and the "not" is the All that You be;
"our God" an idea, defined in our mind
is not God the Creator Divine,
and "me" so defined, an idea in time
is a sham of what God made-design;
defining thus keeps me inadequate-small
and "alive" in a mockery of life,
a story of shadows and fears keeps me bound
in a world made of "what ifs" and strife;
so stop now an instant, breath in with me,
when the mind stops its grasping for more,
from wanting-defining to knowing one's Self
is the pathway to heaven's sweet door.
