It's Just Sport

It's Just Sport

Oh brother sweet, how should we play,
The game of life down here this day?
The rule of Love, seems far away,
When one must loose, for us to play;

For me to win, seems you must loose,
A game so played, makes me abused;
for an enemy of you I make,
so I can grin, -makes me a fake;

To make myself a better fool,
Than you who lost the match -so cruel;
it seems to me, the game that's played
makes both of us like knights that duel;

My team, a part of "me" in mind,
Reflects in part, "myself" in time,
It says I want to take from them
The joy I'll have at winning's end;

But then the table turns about,
The winning team, just lost the bout,
Despair has gripped each player now,
And loss reflects their fear somehow;

Their fear that they are less than those,
That took the wining glory bows,
That took the glory for themselves,
They're guilty yes, from head to toes;

Into the Colosseum go,
Each one of us, the game to show;
The Emperor, a time to laugh,
As one will die, for time to pass;

We fear this end, to die instead
so they can win and raise their head;
That loss should uphold Glory's mad,
A world like this is oh so sad;

God is not fair, for this is cruel,
My joy depends on loss to rule,
For me to have, then I must take,
From you who has, make no mistake,

Life comes from death, and I must kill,
To live a while, in this sweet swill;
But God is Love, or so they say,
maybe he's not like us today.

And maybe I am part of you,
and dreaming loss, a game for two.
a dream of torture and abuse,
a game of fear, a rope, a noose;

Let us awake from fear and loss
from wanting gain at other's loss,
and see that giving is release
and when you do, your love increased

Coming from "lack" --it is not All;
To be apart, it sees so small,
This is the game, I am no fool;
Let's give it up, that Love may rule;
